Dear Parents,
We have received information from the Local Authority informing us that the school buses will not be running tomorrow due to the amber weather warning in place for snow overnight into Friday morning. As a result of this The Corbet School will be closed to all students and staff tomorrow.
We are watching the weather for the end of the school day and have been in touch with Shropshire Council’s Passenger Transport who are also watching the weather and will advise us if an early closure is necessary, at this stage, the forecast does not seem to indicate that an early closure today will be necessary and if this changes I will let you know.
All clubs, fixtures and the library will be closed from 3.20pm today to enable everyone to travel home safely before the snow. If the library closure causes any problems, please do contact the school and let us know. I am hoping that this early notification supports you to put plans in place for tomorrow and potentially this afternoon. Please see the letter attached from Mr Simms about our approach to remote learning for tomorrow.
Unfortunately, there is still some uncertainty around possible snow on Sunday afternoon/evening. Please look at the snow procedures attached to this email and in the last newsletter. I am really hoping that we do not have to use them and that we are back in school as usual on Monday and for the rest of the term.
Please stay safe over the next few days.
