The Corbet School is committed to meeting the needs of all students, whether academically able or creatively talented.
We ensure that our curriculum fully challenges our most able academic students, and that opportunities for enrichment are provided.
If students are more able or talented in areas such as art, music, sport or performing arts then opportunities are available for them to develop their skills as much as possible.
We have many students who have represented the county in sports, won literacy awards, attended writing workshops with published authors and competed successfully in national math’s challenges.
A separate More able and talented Policy sets out the criteria on which we identify most able or talented pupils, through primary school testing, in school testing (Midyis & Yellis Tests) as well as departmental nomination. Each department uses this information to ensure that their curriculum caters for higher abilities, with resources available across departments to encourage most able pupils to reach their full potential.
