Open Day : Monday 2nd October 2023, Guide Tours at 9.30am, 10.00am & 10.30am. no need to book

Open Evening: 6.00pm – 8.00pm.

The Autumn Term starts on Tuesday, 5th September 2023

Monday, 4th September 2023 is a PD Day, and school is closed for pupils

On Friday 21st July 2023 the school day will finish at 1.30pm for the summer holidays. School transport will be arriving at that time to collect pupils.

We would kindly ask parents / guardians to make necessary arrangements for pupils to be collected at 1.30pm. Please note there will be no lunchtime canteen service on this day, although pupils entitled to free school meals will be able to use their entitlement during morning break.

Pupils return to school next term on Tuesday 5th September 2023.

We have a few more weeks to go but may I take this opportunity to wish all parents and pupils an enjoyable summer holiday.

Wednesday 17 May is National Numeracy Day – the UK’s only day dedicated to everyday maths.

It’s a day that celebrates the importance of numbers for children and adults alike, building brighter futures through confidence with numbers and inspiring everyone to improve their numeracy skills.

The charity National Numeracy has teamed up with celebrities and experts to create fun and engaging resources that will get children feeling good about numbers, with confidence boosting activities centered around rapping, dancing, baking, and money management.

We have lots of free, fun activities planned for your children to take part in at school, as well as resources they can use at home.

Number Heroes Competition (11 to 13): With our younger students, we’ll be sparking imaginations and conversations about using numbers and maths in our future dream jobs or hobbies. The lucky winners will receive a £50 voucher for themselves, as well as a £1,000 prize bundle for their school.

National Numeracy Challenge (13+): We’ll be encouraging our older students to improve their everyday maths skills and boost their number confidence with National Numeracy’s interactive online tool.

One of the best ways to support children to feel positive about numbers is to feel confident yourself. National Numeracy has lots of free resources to help adults, so you can support your children with numbers and maths and boost your own numeracy skills too!

Together, we can get the whole nation feeling good about numbers!

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to let you know just how successful our PSHEE Focus Day was on Thursday 4th May. I am delighted to report that all students demonstrated exceptional behaviour throughout the day and engaged well with all the materials used during the activities. We received some outstanding feedback from our visiting speakers, which is a testament to the positive attitudes and commitment of our students.

Our Road Safety Advisor remarked,
‘The students – they are a credit to you all: their individual characteristics made my time spent with you shine.’
The topics for the day were Resilience, Road Safety, RSE – Consent, Vaping, Unifrog Careers Education Platform and finally PC Jason Fenn from West Mercia Constabulary. We are grateful to our visitors and thank them for their contributions towards a successful day. At The Corbet School, we value the feedback of our entire community as it helps us shape our curriculum to ensure we continue to provide the best education for our students.
