We have received a number of calls this morning from concerned parents regarding an incident in Bomere Heath.
Please see the West Mercia press release at: https://www.westmercia.police.uk/article/30160/Police-attend-incident-in-Bomere-Heath for details. The school are not aware of any further details and would direct any enquiries to West Mercia Police.
We can confirm that all pupils are safe and well.
Today is the national offers day for allocation of senior school places.
If you have been unsuccesful in gaining a place for your child at your chosen school, you are able to appeal, further details can be found on page 55 of the Parents’ Guide to Education in Shropshire 2017/2018. This is available to download from the Shropshire.gov.uk website (link below):
The key information is:
Appeals, What can I do if my application is not successful?
“Sometimes places which have been allocated are no longer required and these vacancies can then be re-allocated in accordance with the admissions criteria, but only to those requesting to be placed on the waiting list for review and / or appeal.”
In 2017 The Corbet School will be celebrating its 60th year with a Diamond Anniversary Festival which will be held at school on Saturday 20th May. The festival is part of a yearlong celebration which will include a variety of events and activities. As well as celebrating our past we aim to raise funds to allow us to refurbish the science laboratories to make them suitable for modern science lessons.
We are selling Raffle Tickets throughout the year and the draw for the Raffle will take place at The Corbet School on Friday 1st December 2017. We would like to involve everyone in the community to sell tickets, therefore, we would be very grateful for your help to raise money so we can refurbish the Science labs to support our children’s education.
To meet the requirements of the licence, children are NOT allowed to sell tickets. Therefore, tickets will be addressed to the parents/carers and please support us by ensuring children do not sell the tickets.
If you are able to help us by selling tickets on our behalf, please get in touch and let us know how many tickets you require
